'Til Now takes apart the movement and thematic themes of my past work and focuses on the minute craft of making dance. I am asking: How many different ways can you connect multiple bodies together and move seamlessly through those shape? What does the act of weaving two or more bodies together confer both emotionally and mechanically? With this project I took a step back and dissected the connective tissue of making dance: trying to re-stitch each step together so the construction is more solid, intricate, and has an innate logic. I am also aiming to develop a choreographic language, that continues to draw upon nature and animal behavior, elements of bird flight patterns and animal posturing are still visible in the choreography and general tenor of the work. It is the result of a year of consistent work with a group of four dancers. We have also opened up our rehearsal space to visual artist Genia Blaser who drew the rehearsal process. We have launched a limited edition of prints and cards. See here.
